I don't lie so there aren't any conflicts in what I've posted. As far as I knew before he died he had little money and I was prepared to help him out financially. He declined any help. Yes, though no one knew it, he could have paid more than the $50K+ his illness ultimately cost him. OTOH, the more he spent on this the less he'd have to live on the rest of his life had he survived. He had no job, no real prospects, no pension, no social security coming - he hadn't worked since his 20's. The money he had came from his parents savings. His dad was a barber and his mom didn't work - at least not for decades. They lived in a little house that sold for a little over $30K after he was gone.

BTW I haven't mentioned the best part. He was a hardcore radical liberal in every respect. Down on America, the whole nine yards. Had been his entire life. He would fit right in on any liberal SI thread. A Paris Hilton type with a Michael Moore / Air America outlook (too bad he couldn't listen to Air America where he lived). Yes, he traveled out to San Francisco a few times and we all thought he'd stay out there because he was definately a SF type person, but he didn't and came back home to leach off his parents his entire life. I will say when they got older he did a fine job caring for them. And he could have been a caretaker for folks like that but he never did.

So if you want to call him a weasel, malign him for gaming the system, blah blah blah, realize you're talking about one of your own idealogical group, fella.

<<I am sure I get only what is ordinary health care treatment for Americans>>

You are getting what the "tip of the ice berg " gets as Kennedy described ...all the rest can go bankrupt or kiss Rush Limbo's ass.<g>

Oh yeah, I'm part of the moneyed elite like the Kennedy's - ha ha ha.

You really don't know much about America. Hint: Its not like Michael Moore depicts.
