More likely, ObamaCare will morph into a watered-down compromise bill acceptable to moderate Republicans. Close scrutiny will reveal that it contains one or more camel noses under the tent that offer entry points for later expansion. But the noses won't be so blatantly odious as to invoke the level of opposition we've witnessed at recent town hall meetings.

President Obama will herald passage of a healthcare reform bill as an example of bipartisan collaboration. The far Left base of the Democrat Party will be angry, but recover quickly. After all, they're not about to vote Republican or Libertarian.

This is exactly why the so-called moderate Republicans have to stay away from the table. The Democrats, with Obama and Pelosi in the lead, cannot be trusted. They need to score a win here, however watered down, but you can bet it will be a watered down win containing the seeds of eventual victory. Unless they give up that chance, there is no reason to cooperate.

Both Obama and Pelosi have shown that they are dishonest and cannot be trusted. I think that such traits should not be rewarded.

Reid: Teddy's death "going to help us"

The Reno Gazette-Journal has a sit-down with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), who addresses the Ted Kennedy question in, um, an interesting way.

Q: How will U.S. Sen. (Edward) Kennedy's death affect things?

A: I think it's going to help us. He hasn't been around for some time. We're going to have a new chairman of that committee, it'll be, I don't know for sure, but I think Sen. (Chris) Dodd, (D-Conn.). He has a right to take it. Either him or (U.S. Sen. Tom) Harkin, (D-Iowa), whichever one wants it can have it. I think he (Kennedy) will be a help. He's an inspiration for us. That was the issue of his life and he didn't get it done.

Nothing in here is particularly new — Kennedy will help the cause, Dodd gets to carry the banner, Kennedy's work remains undone. But the straight-shooting Reid does have a gift for saying non-controversial things in the most controversial way possible.

"Regardless of the outcome of ObamaCare, if past behavior signals the future, the Obama administration's next big push will be to mute its most successful critics."

MJ COMMENT:

How will they do this? Here is partially how----in addition to the attacks on well-known talk show personalities.

Already in the Eastern USA Move.On.Org operating under the umbrella of Americans United For Change have bought major time on cable stations to attack Congressman and Senators whose elections aren't until 2010.

They are being attacked for voting against the bills called cap and trade and against Obama Care.

Cap and Trade bills are imo destined to strangle further our economy as the government expands its debt and budgets into the trillions and trillions of dollars.

Under Obama, Cap and Trade is being put on a fast track in Congress----leaving little time for concerned Americans to consider and grasp the impact of Cap and Trade on our nation.

Check out the Waxman-Markey bill------a 300 page amendment was inserted, as I understand in the bill in the wee small hours of the morning----allowing no time for consideration before the vote was taken.

(This is what is known as smoke filled room politics! Do the work in the middle of the night and present as a fait d'accompli)

Why is it that these organizations such as the extreme Americans United For Change and Move.On.Org can bundle money to buy advertisement to support Democrat positions and candidates?

Is what they are doing legal under campaign laws? Are they legal?
