Curly,

The reported short interest in CYMI was compiled on Oct.9.
Given the large trading volumes of the last week and jittery environment, it is possible that many shorts had already covered -unless they are too greedy. Some of the earlier posts suggest that the downgraders Montgomery and MS had been actively buying CYMI since Friday.

Thus, we may not see the short squeeze that you seem to predict.
Chances for the gradual positive price movement are, however, quite good. November data should show large decrease in the open interest IMHO.

*OFF TOPIC* I am out of WSTL (figured some time ago that without positive news, this stock deteriorates too fast). Kept some long AMTX calls though and am ready to buy back once at least one meaningful contract materializes. My broker tells me, some institutions started actively buying WSTL once it hit 15. ASDL mass market appeal though is still uncertain. Typically, US WEST decided that it is more important to offer lower transmission rates right away. Note that while their plans were well advertised in advance, PAIR stock has reacted positively only after USWEST had started offering the service.

Good luck

Y.

"The other thing is to e-mail and write Akins and his Board to go forward with their plans for a 1 million share buyback."

Where did you get the impression that Akins and his board ever had these plans? I never saw anything like this from them. Thanks.

I don't know if this has been asked before, but what's the actual float for CYMI? Yahoo has it at 6.6 million, with a daily trading volume of 2.26 million. How can 1/3 of the float trade each and every day? Is this stock the day traders favorite plaything? And if Yahoo is correct, that means 50 percent of the float is shorted, not just 30 percent.
