While our USA society is all about "Anyone can achieve anything", the truth is that our weaknesses make this simple platitude impossible for most. Focusing on your positives can only get you so far and maybe not that far from the ditches on either side of the road of life over a lifetime. I say humans have a decent streak of delusion, probably a decent survival mechanism, but dangerous in trading. You know Dr. V passed in 2006? Great great great man.
