Mmmm, yeah, whatever.

The US technology lead in the energy sector is due to the fact that it has decades of experience, with a vast fund of knowledge organically grown throughout Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, etc., by private enterprise motivated by the scent of profits.

A government 1/2 Billion researh 'effort' is the equivalent of taking that 1/2 billion and burning it in a bonfire.

Examples: Pemex, the Venezuelans and soon the Brazilians.

All of which will make the energy technology markets even better for the organically grown private competitors you find in the Anglo world.
