Your right about water depth - my bad

"The well is considered one of deepest and most technologically difficult discoveries in recent years. The oil field is 250 miles southeast of Houston in 1,259 meters of water and was drilled to a total depth of 10,685 meters, or approximately 6.6 miles below the ocean’s surface.

“It is one of the deepest wells ever drilled by the oil and gas industry," the company said."
