Maybe worse, much worse. Someone asked, "What if there were a run on banks?" My take on that was that if one were to try to retain asset value in context of world wide currency devaluation, one would try to switch out of currency, equities, debt instruments etc. and into anything that could conceivably retain value, gold or real estate maybe. It's scary to think of things getting that out of hand but it could happen if there were enough momentum to get the snowball rolling.
