Faris, you surely will be missed. It is with deep sympathy that I write this message. The tension on this thread has risen inexplicably since aipn has touched it's highs and is now whipsawing. Your insight and research is truly longs work. I read your messages as thorougly as my limited trading experiences allowed. They gave me a fuller understanding of oil in general and aipn in particular. It is easy to see the work that you put into your investments is as complete as I could ever hope to do on my own.. Your input will be missed on SI's AIPN thread.
I don't post often, but I felt strongly about this situation. I do believe that to have a healthy thread we need to have different point of view's.....long's, short's, daytrader's etc etc...With the number of posters here there is certainly to be some animosity between individuals. This is not necesarry but also expected. The different personalities here are most definitley an asset to the thread as well......Just as it would be boring if all women were blondes this thread would be boring if all posters were in agreement as to the future of aipn. And I would also be more leary of the stocks prospects if that was the case.
I'm sorry, but I can't help but to believe that there is something else besides the animosity here that made you decide to abandon this thread. You are an "A" personality...a leader...a fighter...and I can't believe that you would give up that easily........But in any event I wish you the BEST OF LUCK in all your investments......
MIKE

TO THE CHOSEN FEW: Strange as it may seem, whether you agree with me or not, I think we lost the most important commodity we have on this thread. IMO, if we are to become winners in this investment, we owe give important value to the opinion of people like Faris. After all he is the guy who does most of the work on this thread. And for some people to thrash his opinion is beyond me.

Don't know about you, but everytime I get something from Faris, I made sure I read it twice or even three times to ensure that I don't miss anything important. Unfortunately again, expertise on "OIL" alone doesn't make one a great investor. One not only need to be well-rounded, but open-minded as well. No need to shut down anybody. All contribution no matter how big or small or how bad or good it is to us, is precious and therefore has value. What may not be important to you, may be of value to others and vice-versa.

The insights that Gregory, Qdog, Taxi, Zeev and many others are providing are significant contributions, but those are just parts of the puzzle. To complete the analysis, I believe we need input from people like Geneat, Cathi, Mario, Juan, Faris and many others who have actively contributed to this thread.

Just want to remind everybody of the old saying that "When there's SMOKE, there's FIRE." sycamore

Faris
It's to bad that this thread has lowered it self to the level of insults over differances of oppinion. As stated a few posts ago, info to some, may not be info to others, and visa versa.
I feel there is room for everyone as well as a little humor or FRIENDLY jabs: however in some cases it's gone beyond reason. It seems to have lowered it's self to the level of a bunch of 5 year olds at times, not mature adults with the same goal, to make money.

That's my left handed opinion for what it's worth, and that along with a dollar will get me a cup of coffee, except in N.Y.

Faris, I have never posted to this thread, but I read it constantly hoping you have posted. I am a small investor holding 2000 sh. I am sure there are many of us who only read, and I am sure that I will read less often now because I am interested in real information and not clutter.

I also have a small position that ranges from 2-5k in shares. I look foward to reading Faris's comments because as a informed investor i want to know all sides of the story. Unfortunately we also have to read someone trying to hype a stock either up or down instead of giving good info such as Faris. We are all here to make money on crucial info and whether shorting or long on a stock our main concern should be on how to evaluate that info. This is especially true in a stock where no relevant financial info is available and the potential to grow is yet to be truely understood.

Faris,

I probably have not "earned" the right to comment on the activity on this thread. I have only been following it for about the last 1,500 posts. I am not a sophisticated investor, nor am I knowledgable about the oil industry or AIPN. I am, however, a businessman (sorry, Taxi, just an owner/COO, not a CEO) and I can seperate the real info from the bullsh, oops, almost messed up - cyber police you know. I follow this thread for two reasons, to learn and to have some fun. I very much respect the opinions of both the longs and the shorts. I use the information I learn in an attempt to make the best decisions (Ayn Rand is probably spinning in her grave).

I fear that because of the fun aspect of this thread, I have now been placed into the "idiot" and "patient" catagory. This is actually not the case. If you look a my previous posts, I have come out against the character assinations and nasty-grams. We should be able to take exception to other viewpoints without attacking personalities. My support of Taxi was a respose to requests that he "go away". I do not want to see anyone "go away". All should have the right to speak their mind within reason. I felt the "racist" issue was kind of blown out of proportion, but some might be more sensitive than me. I don't think it was serious enough to call in the cyber-police, but that's just my opinion, I could be wrong.

As far as having some fun, I make the following observation: When I started following this thread, there was lots of info flying around and lots of anticipation. Non-subject posts seemed to be at a minimum. However, as hard info dwindled, it was replaced with more idle chat. This seems natural to me and it is not difficult or time consuming to just go past it if you are not interested. In the meantime, the idle, off topic chat is entertaining to me and others. I really don't care what the people at AOL think about us. I am sure that when we start hearing some breaking news, the posts will revert to the subject at hand.

So....Please do not leave the site. We all value your input and well researched information. Please do not interpret my comments to and about Taxi or anyone else as subjecting you to abuse. I have learned a great deal from you, and also from the many others that contribute to the thread. I read everything posted, and would sorely miss your presence. I, like Deer Hunter, will be really pissed off, if you are driven off the sit by people that not only do not contribute much (me included), but that resort to childish name calling and personal attacks (not me). Just ignore the bastar....oops.

By the way, you indicate that you want to know peoples "true identity". Mine is plainly posted in my bio. on this site. Not so with you??? I assure you I am not one of the "lunitic fringe"

I hope my vote counts for something.

best regards and good luck, whatever you decide to do.
Bob Binninger

Faris, considering the character you've shown and all the valuable effort you've contributed to studying this company, I don't fault you at all for becoming frustrated with some of the feedback you've received on this thread at times. I appreciate everyone's input re AIPN, but can do without the 'junior high' mentality that sometimes comes from certain people on this thread, people that should know better. Your time here has not been wasted in that it has helped so many people in their effort to learn more about AIPN. I'm sure I speak for many other lurkers that feel the same. Thanks a million and I certainly hope you will reconsider in the near-future.

??- when you check and double check these rrumors- they are not then substantiated? or then it is STRICTLY your decision whether the rumour
is plausible? anything can happen pal.
ANYTHING-
hey complain all you want to whoever you want- i apologize-{not required BY ANYONE and what I get from you is another kick say that rumors cannot be unsubstantiated- but your rumors are double checked? to make sure they are rumors?
you inferences to having inside contacts are actually ridiculous and borderline on hinting that you have inside information..
you sir are the worst kind of shuckster-
one who thinks he is giving away the store- and has people feeling sorry that smeone questions it.
i apologize only for the fact that you can't continue to stay and wait and see what happens-
i know you will be back when the stock goes up-
but if it goes down where will you be?
BTW your expertise on the $1 under stocks thread only confirms your strength involved with illiquid pennies.
have a nice day-
next time you want to take a shot at anyone intelligent-
please come back -savvy investors are here- not the smelly herd
sorry.

Faris,

You have been the most important resource on this thread. It's sad that you have decided not to contibute any longer.
But I think it takes all kinds of people to create a useful discussion . All view points should be considered.
I understand that some people have been unnecessarily harsh in stating their views, but there are a lot of others here who been trying to understand the (AIPN) situation and your insights and effort have been really helpful.
Thank you for all your input and I hope that you return to this thread.

Alan Kundargi.

I saw a photo of George Faris standing at the leaking well in Begash. Didn't see any mountains anywhere. The Standard Oil guy sounds like one of those US businessmen who HAVE NOT mastered the Kazak "art of the deal". George Faris has. Also, as for the "non useable" comment...that is patently ridiculous. Chevron has invested billions in Tenghiz and is just now getting it out of the country. Would Chevron be shipping "non-useable" oil. Hello?
Finally, anyone who thinks the JV is taking too long should remember that the Production Agreement covering royalty and tax rates must come first. In July, George Faris told an NYC audience (myself included) that his Kazak partners were charged with those negotiations and should have an agreement in hand in October. I think they are one small step away from that target. If I'm right, it would mean that we are right on schedule. Bidding war? Surely,
one would not expect a public bidding war but that's not to say there isn't one underway. Do not easily dismiss that possibility.

Cheers...Faris

Dear Thread,

I know you are all desperate for FARIS Bulletins so I thought you should all read his well researched data that you are all looking for. I hope that you can take the needle out of your veins when your done ODing on this vital AOL post that we have not had the privilige of reading. I will keep posting these in the Know AOL tidbits as a public service to SI denizens.

For the last time Faris. I sign contracts as a consultant. Those contracts are very specific about saying certain things and discussing those companies operations. In other words, Faris, I'm prohibited to speak about anything that I know maybe happening. This business is very tight lip and confidential.
You have putdown my contribution, yet you are the one that is reckless with your information and caught more than once at it. You also are bordering on insider trading. You claim early on to be a investment manager, which I diffently find distrubing and possible violation of SEC rules.

For your information, I have talk to AIPN and the only analyst to recommend this stock. I live in Houston Texas; the unofficial oil capital of the world. IF you are in the biz, you are here. Yet your Texas sources are better! I also have own this stock far longer than yourself, which makes me VERY aware of this company and some of it's failures.

I also know the risk that are invovled with oil exploration, something that you continue to ignore. There is a huge wave of optimism in the Caspian throughout the industry. So is the Falklands, Hibernia, Gulf of Mexico, South China Sea, Vietnam, Algeria, Colombia, Venezuela, North Sea etc., etc, etc. The Caspian is just one of many focus area's, which again you seem to ignore.

Now you are telling us that AIPN is going for even more area's! IF you did your research, you'll discover these guys were one of the largest lease holders in Colombia. What happen? They turn them back to the government. Failed to secure financing or partners.

You have for the past few weeks been telling everyone any day now. Well, when is that??? Or is it Faris starting to realize this story may stink somewhat and is departing the thread and the stock?

Now, I've more important things to do with my time Faris. Good luck with your cheerleading in AOL reputable stock chat room.
