Dear JDN,
Thanks for clearing up the "insider" definition. I tend to think of insiders as officers but they need not be for SEC purposes. As far as not considering shorting against the box bearish, I can only tell you that most public companies will not allow their officers to do any type of trading that allows them to profit from a decline, whether short term or long term, in the price of their stock. Furthermore, it is very dificult tr trade the stock of your employer because there are limited "window periods" when you are allowed to buy or sell. I forget the exact times but it is something like you cant buy or sell within 3 weeks of an earnings release and not until 5 business days after an earnings release. Also can't rade, of course, if you are aware of any material information not available to the public like an acquisition.

Hate to be negative but it looks like we may be in for another sell off in the market today. Hold on to your hats.
