There is a huge difference between following advice to quarantine myself and being locked up on the orders of Dear Leader.

I see the difference but it is not the critical difference. Sure, it would grate terribly to be quarantined by an authority figure that you despised rather than making the sacrifice by choice, but humanity is just as dead regardless of the authority upon which you came to be quarantined. Regardless of the authority, keeping quarantine would be the right thing to do. It would be utterly despicable, Hitleresque, to escape quarantine had you been exposed to ebola. You'd not only be dead rather than "living free," you would be taking at least a bunch and maybe millions or billions of other people to their deaths as well. Surely you see that. And surely you see that it's more important to save those lives than to stand up proud and free against Dear Leader. Sometimes there really is enough at stake that we just have to suck it up and do the right thing. People may differ as to just where that point is that one accedes to such authority, but surely spreading ebola is past it.
