Give them power like locking people up for being sick and soon we will be on their enemies list and will strangely become sick. I'm not denying how some folks suck up power or what they might do with it. I'm just saying that the outcome you describe is still better than humanity being dead from ebola and you having to live whatever small amount of life you have left knowing that you are effectively a mass murderer. We need the perspective to choose the lesser of two bad outcomes. In this case the alternatives aren't even close. I cannot imagine it would give you great comfort as you lie spitting up your liquified guts on your death bed to be able to croak out, "yes, humanity may be in ruins but I stopped those SOBs from having the power to enforce a quarantine." Do you think that anyone would respect that? Not hardly.
