I have a friend that was permanently layed off from his job 17 months ago, his unemployment will run out this month.... About 6 or 7 months ago he approached an automotive repair shop of 8 employees and offered his mechanical semi qualified expertise in exchange for "job training" at 8 hrs a day 5 days a week for "no pay", they gladly put him on considering their cost was zero... now, 1/2 a year later, he has been offered a full time job with them at $40K per year + OT..... With the extra help he provided they had taken on more work and now he was needed.... ingenuity at its best eh...
