I also suspect that Bush figured out that the WMDs weren't going to show up When do you think he figured this out? I think everybody that had the intel believed he had them...the one thing that sticks in my mind about WMD's was the open border with Syria long before we could get in there. There was a lot of chemical weapons that were never accounted for...

i have no idea who in the government could come up with half a brilliant plan of any sort. look what they are doing to public finances... that cannot be smart... running like chickens with no head because paulson & co. scared them ? these people have no guts nor brains, they are idiots, or crooks, and most probably both... they do not have the capacity to be 'smart' half (if not all) the con-gressmen and representatives are disconnected from the real world... i think the real smart people are busy attempting to save their own skin and fortunes before the fascists truly take over.. in that environment, i doubt there are any 'master minded' plan to use every other country's natural resources and save this country's own. i really do not believe they have figured out how bad the effect of the current financial crisis (a crisis of trust) will be. the US dollar is at best, the perfect example that the emperor has no clothes... for now, the only reason no oil country has demanded payment in a different curency (ies) is because they know everyone else does not have the strength to be a reserve currency... and the perceived strength of the US dollar is like an old bridge here... corroded and falling apart... we just do not know when it will fall.... i hope i am wrong. but i do not think so... lately i have had a number of personal experiences that have shown me the true character of those around... and it is not pretty... 10 or 15 years ago, i would have NEVER imagined this type of crap would hapen in this country... i was wrong by a long mile the idiots are breeding probably 3 times (if not 5 times faster than "normal" whatever that might have been -and infecting those who are borderline) we are doomed.... actually, it is beginning to feel as though armageddon is upon us... why do i say that ? because in this environment, in order to survive, you have to start thinking like a criminal... that cannot be good.
