Maslow's heirarchy... don't believe it if you don't want. It's not my idea. There were problems, you just dismissed them. <One is that most people in the third world do have their basic survival needs met nowadays.> That's just crap, as I said, where the Catholic Church is expanding most rapidly are in very poor areas. You are hung up on the Catholic church. Its not the Catholic church thats growing so rapidly - in fact its losing ground in former 100% Catholic countries to evangelical and pentecostal churches. You can pretend the poor areas of the world is a lovely place to contemplate higher ideals and use your god given intellect, but that's just your assertion. Its just a fact of human nature. Anyone, even po folks, can be spiritual. In fact, it may be that riches make it easier to ignore and divert attention from the realities of human life. You still don't seem to be willing to acknowledge the contradiction in your arguments that third worlders are too impoverished to be spiritual ... yet they produced the lovely Buddhism, Taoism, and etc you glorify. Like I said there's a conflict there. We all know some of your other assertions, like there is no Evolution... ????See above paragraph... and then contemplate why starving people steal, fearful people attack, etc etc. Most thieves aren't starving. Most attackers aren't fearful. <<I know, one more reason to look down on Christianity ... 'those' people. They can't possibly be spiritual. Probably just pet monkeys learning tricks for food.> That's YOUR idea... never entered my head. I'm talking education levels and basic needs YOUR talking the nonsense above! Interesting that it popped into YOUR head. hmmmmmmmm Its implicit in what you've said. I just noticed it. OTOH you seem to ignore the other side of the coin... what's up with the highly educated West??? Comfortable people seeking a more comfortable and flattering faith. <There's a Buddhist temple near me, but they're all Cambodian immigrants. No westerners. Cause they're REAL Buddhists.> Oh, as opposed to those nasty little new age 'spritualists'... hmmm look who's looking down nose now. hmmmmmmmmm I confess, I do consider western new agers, scientologists, pseudo-buddhists or whatever as shallow and ignorant. Like Madonna and kabbalah, Tom Cruise and scientology, Richard Gere, ..... . <I've said I'm not Catholic. So that isn't true. The charge is funny after the burning bush stuff btw.> Yea, laugh it off and ignore the main point... YOU are correct about Jesus, apostels, and saints "miracles" but roar with riducule at Chinese beliefs that masters can do the same. I don't know about the saints for that matter. I don't rule it out. Bottom line - I believe in a God that can intervene in the world. But not magic tricks.<Who cares if Europe is secular. > You seem to think it's all very important... dunno why. No, you brought up Europes secularism as proof the smart people were rejecting Christianity, not like those primitive, ignorant, cannabalistic third worlders. BTW did anyone tip you off about 'Jesus and the burning bush' thing? Perhaps not, those who might do it probably wouldn't notice the problem either. But it sure makes my shallow and ignorant opinion seem safer.
