Joel, I don't see any change in the fundamentals. If you are talking about the 20% price reduction, let me assure you that this is a standard business practice. You milk a new product at high markups and then adjust prices downward. Let's wait for the quarterly report before we jump to any conclusions. Remember that component costs have been dropping, and as these companies increase unit sales there are additional cost reductions due to volume purchases.

What we are facing right now is the result of a self-fulfilling prophecy. Analysts have been shown to be wrong in almost 70% of their income forecasts for the S&P 500 stocks with about 50% of those on the low side. Burton Malkiel, in his fine book "A Random Walk Down Wall Street" discusses this phenomenon at length. Additionally, many brokerage houses have a maddening habit of revising their recommendations every few months, and with the popularity of momentum investing the inevitable result is extreme volatility. For example, last spring PAIR was trading in the 40's. During the summer it dipped to under $15, and a couple of weeks ago it was back to almost $30.

Regards,

Paul
