Fascinating story, and especially that this happened at the frigging Crossroads, of all places ... Clapton's been obsessed with that place forever, for some reason. <g> youtube.com It rather surprises me that they never got burnt out/lynched for defying whites back then, but like the writer said, 'I pause and tell Davis and Chamoun that stories like theirs aren't celebrated enough in Mississippi, that "all we hear about is bad sh--" coming from these parts'. (Up here in Canada, that's most all I've heard) Meanwhile, this football kid is up there with Harper Lee in my estimation of American heros ... it takes some kind of guts to draw the attention of a .38, after all ... please do keep us informed of his progress at U Miss.

you've been around since 1996 and so have I, only a few short months before you signed on. where have you been for 12 years more or less <g> another name? <g> after a while, anyone who didn't drift off to create a cyber life to replace the lack of one on the coffee shop threads, landed in a place like this, talking real shop with a whole lot more than coffee. so you get to know people regardless after that length of time, if you admit, you spent that length of time, plugging signals into bob's data base, just like right now. either way happy three day weekend!!
