Understand. The methodology and discipline of engineering would/could lead to an in depth understanding of the science of climate (which may involve many of the subsets you mention) if applied there.

I just meant that being an engineer per se doesn't give one any particular expertise in climate modeling.

I was also rather surprised to hear that computer engineers were putting down computer modeling (for other disciplines) when so many, apparently, scientists and researchers use the same.
