I don't think US will be out of the mess for a few years, but
hyperinflation is probably unlikely, unless they really screw it
up. Overall, we came a long way toward secular bottom in
the stock market since 2000 already, but the real bottom
of the secular bear likely lies ahead. Of course, one never
knows for sure. We'll have a cyclical recovery now, and we'll
just see how strong it is. Economic crises come and go.
The real problem is lack of free markets due to
crony capitalist system in which the government officials
are bought by Wall Street. Unless this is fixed, resources
will be allocated inefficiently.

It seems too many people are calling for a down market in September because of September's historical performance, I don't know if the markets will comply this time around since it has already been down all year and apparently still undervalued...
