Here's a possibility for the web-o-rama this afternoon:

What if Jack King were to come clean about Matridigm's lack of success and admit that Zitel is a two-bit player in the y2k remediation business? He could say that Zitel paid only a small amount for its MD stake, so that any profits generated, no matter how small, would prove the MD investment to be worthwhile. Then he could say that Z will continue to focus on its other business opportunities. And he could paint a picture of the first stages of a turn-around in the money-losing hardware business and the money-losing, newly acquired software businesses.

In my opinion, that would certainly be better for the company than a no-contracts-yet-but-wait-til-next-week replay of the last quarterly conference call. He could win points from WS for forthrightness, and project a vision of how Z can prosper in the post-2000 era.

Any liklihood of this happening?

Regarding SEC investigations

Not to Corey but general post.

I'm short this stock, but I don't like to see disinformation, even if it supports my "side". I find no published announcement of SEC investigation of ZITL and the SEC has a policy of not commenting on ongoing investigations. Please post a source if you state that "the SEC is investigating". This kind of unsupported attack is why Presstek sued "Kumacap" (an AOL bulletin board short poster, who, I think was "Ivan" on SI). I think the plain truth is damaging enough to ZITL.

My opinion of the conference, I think that ZITL will "rediscover" that it is a hardware company and focus on positive side of European contracts for data storage systems. However, this won't help the share price. At this point if they continue to tout Y2K without any evidence of significant ongoing business, they are simply inviting a shareholder suit.

PS: John Kratus beat me to this same conclusion in the previous post, "Great minds", etc.

<<lie # 8. A big financial officer from federal express has bought a
ton of zitel stock, becuase zitel will be doing the conversion for
fed ex. This was told to me by one of my zitel sources.>>

Yes, I work for the technical division of Fedex and I don't believe that the company has any association with Zitel.
