Usually, volunteer political positions are held by people who have the potential to be far, far above the Mickey D's level of employment. They take these volunteer position because they don't need the minimum wage offered by Mickey D's, want to have something to put on their resume, or are hoping to break into politics at some level. The people who hope to get work at Mickey D's are not usually competing for such positions.

Judges have unpaid interns, typically law students who are getting school credit but no wages. Should those positions be eliminated too?

You seem to be saying that there should be no volunteer positions in this country because everybody must be paid minimum wage.

That's ludicrous.
