Gib, John Key's government is still a hard-left political party so Enplus did not make a fopa. Unfortunately, the political yardsticks are so heavily skewed to the left that the slightest whiff of something less than full scale Helen Clarkism is considered right wing.

As you might have noticed, after nearly a year of John Key's government, socialism reigns supreme in NZ.

Helen Clark's frustration is that John Key was so far to the left that he squeezed her up against outright Stalinism and nowhere left to move left. Hey presto and viola, he won the election and now he has all the room on the right to move as well as free range on the left.

He is certainly pragmatic. He's also pretty good. It's like a breath of fresh air to have him in charge. Hopefully he'll ditch the dopey cap and trade malarkey. Already, they have put it on the back burner. Meanwhile, we'll be able to cut down our own trees without spending $20,000 on legal fees with years of delay and bureaucracy.

Did you see the picture of him with an axe in The NZ Herald advertisement for the anti tree-chopping crowd? I thought he looked good. They tried to make him look silly. It was a mistake and will get him even more support. People are sick of having loons telling them whether they can cut their trees or not.
