all good stuff. my main goals are to speed up, rather than crunch more. so anywhere in the machine i can lower the response time of each part including monitor response time, would be hands down better than the 6 year plus machine i'm suffering now. except of course, where moving from 2.26 to 2.93 is a 2k upgrade in price. given apple's massive cost on the desk pro, might be a better deal to do a gaming machine from alienware etc... let them overclock it, and they'll have the best response time components around, short of me shopping and building my own machine.
