Really? Must be a community college, then. Apple has very steep discounts for educational insitutions and if price is more important than functionality...

At A&M, they use either Sun workstations or high end PCs. Sun because things like Cadence don't run on PCs or fruit flavored machines. Linux is a good choice because many of the tools for Sun will also run on Linux. And, if nothing else, you can ssh into the network and spawn a XWindows session. I did that a lot for my chip design work.

Dunno anyone with a Women's Studies degree. Perhaps you are confusing me with _less...
