< Why bring up cannibalism if not trying to put down converts by making an appeal to ideas of 'ignorant savages'? >

Because to explain things (especially to you) it's often useful to take things to the "Nth" degree so they can see the point.

Obvious appeal to stereotype to put down people who choose to convert to Christianity.

<How about this, are third worlders who embrace Christianity capable of real spirituality or not?>

How would I know, all depends on the individual of course... I think Maslows H makes sense..

Which means you can't say yes. And you think the answer is no based on Maslow.

That said, look at the conversation... YOU assume I think the Church's missionsaries are not doing good... I THINK they are going FANTASTIC WORK when they feed to the poor and educate them. I simply think many of those folks are there for the help, not because they "found god" through the church.

I assume you think the growth of Christianity in the third world is a response of poor unthinking persons who dumbly sign up for the missionary's feeding programs .... since you keep saying so. I'm glad you approve of feeding hungry people although you're wrong about the growth of Christianity in the third world. It isn't Roman Catholicism, foreign missionary, or feeding program driven.
