It's pretty obvious that Beck has been doing his homework on Jones for a little while. I suspect that calling for the boycott may have moved Jones higher up in the queue, but wasn't the reason he went after him.

I think that the Van Jones/Fox News (glenn beck) thing is going to be the turning point for the main stream media. The MSM got scooped by Fox and I would lay odds that Fox has more research ready to be exposed. If another czar gets outted by Fox while the MSM has its collective thumbs up their asses, they will truly lose their credibility....and their audience.

Hell, I saw several MSM outlets actually acknowledge the fox scoop (though not in glowing terms). Though clearly a jab at Glenn Beck, the Huffingtonpost is basically reinforcing his credibility with a headline like this "Glenn Beck Gets First Scalp: Van Jones Resigns".

The other news outlets might actually have to start doing some investigative reporting to catch up with Fox. My guess is that Obama has more to worry about than just Fox News now.

Two days later, the stakes got higher when another Jones-founded organization, Color of Change, called for a boycott of the Beck show. Amazingly, many in the mainstream media would report the fiction that Beck's coverage of Jones was retaliation for the boycott, even though coverage of Jones started first. Given the chronology, if there is any connection we should consider whether the boycott was retaliation for the coverage.
