My understanding is that he backed down and won't be.

But before the shitstorm, the lesson plans were politicizing it.

They fixed it. So I don't see why anyone would have a problem with it at this point. I don't.

Bush I did.

No, Bush made a speech from a school to the people, as well as to listen to some kids reading books, etc. That is not the same as preaching conservativism (or socialism as Obama planned to do) to the kids.
