Mike, I agree this company is aggressive and makes great deals. The future is extremely bright. I got info. from their web site:fng.com under company history.... I think if the company release the earnings on Yahoo earlier. I heard that lots of people did not get the news of the earnings release yesterday til today. IMO... this was a down market... When the up market comes, we should except more uptrend in the stock. Willie ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Since its founding over 50 years ago, Friede & Goldman (F&G) has been a pioneer in the field of offshore vessel design. From marsh barges to submersibles, and drillships to semi-submersibles, and, lastly, jack-ups, F&G has been at the forefront of the industry designing floating and bottom-supported platforms for drilling, pipelay, and accommodation services. Today, F&G is the world's leading independent designer of offshore drilling units. F&G has a long history of semi-semersible designs, beginning with the very first semi-semersibles to operate in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico, through the development of the successful Pacesetter and Trendsetter designs and culminating in the current state-of-the-art floating production facility (FPF) designs. There are currently over 50 F&G designed semi-semersible drilling, pipelay, and accomodation units in service worldwide. The most modern of these units have operated in water depths over 3000 feet and in severe environments such as in the North Sea and off the coast of Canada. There are also over 30 jack-up drilling units of F&G design operating, some in water depths up to 110 meters, year-round in the North Sea. In the last five years, the naval architects and marine engineers of F&G have also been involved in the design of offshore mobile structures and vessels for production, storage, and offloading services. F&G has been contracted by major oil companies to perform engineereing studies for the design of jack-up production units in water depths up to 150 meters as well as semi-submersible and ship-shaped drilling/roduction/storage units. These engineering studies have emphasized the marine and payload aspects of the various designs and have resulted in designs capable of production operations in sever environments worldwide. There are two floating production units of F&G design which have recently been delivered: the SANA "Spirit of Columbus" at Fincantieri Shipyard, Italy, and the Smedvig "SPU-380" at Far East Levington Shipyard, Singapore. For both vessels, F&G performed the core structural and naval architectural designs.
