What we are about to experience, IMO, is a reversion to reality and it will involve a conflicting, but consistently painful combination of inflation and deflation. inflation in things we need, deflation in things we want? the fourth turning is a fascinating look at u.s. history...and presents the coming winter as inevitable and necessary. the only question seems to be the degree of pain it will bring. howe used the civil war as an example of the fourth turning going bad and the new deal and ww2 as an example of the fourth turning bringing us into a prosperous and productive future. i've got a hold on the book at our library...looking forward to reading it. puplava does a very good interview...but i get tired of his sidekick and their fear mongering over having our taxes raised...like that's the biggest thing we have to worry about...actually, i wouldn't have to worry about it because i'm not in a high enough tax bracket...yet.
