Sometimes I just can't help myself...lol. I've seen "tortuous" and "torturous" for "tortious" so many times that I just had to say it....

These days spellchecks are the source of many spelling errors if the operator is either not a good speller or not paying attention.

Dictation can also result in odd sentences if the sender is not paying attention when he or she signs documents.

One that I received and never forgot involved a certain kind of motion called a motion for summary judgment, which allows a court to enter judgment as a matter of law on the papers so long as there are no triable issues of material fact.

The letter stated something like:

"We are going to look into the possibility of obtaining some rejudgment....."

Still makes me laugh.
