Most of those countries were recovering nicely by the late 30's. Germany so much they felt comfortable enough to start the war. However the depression made our citizens uncomfortable with joining the war, for many reasons, but one of the largest was that they felt our economy was to weak to win a war.

Typical wingnut hand waving. FDR wasn't elected until 1932. Which was about the time of the trough. Given that things improved from that time forward, I'd say it worked.

So, far from making the Great Depression worse, it was the opposite.
