Well, a little. I thought the new inmates weren't as much in the pocket of the insurance companies as the old inmates.

This pre-existing condition exclusion has to be made illegal. Under our current system, if my employer lays me off, and I get re-hired by another company or, alternatively after my COBRA expires, any condition I've cumulatively contracted over my life span is a "pre-existing" condition. This means eventually, all conditions will be pre-existing because most people change jobs regularly.
