Yeah, we have two parties, but in name only. Both are Goldman's puppets. -g- I still like what Obama is trying to do. The general direction is right, but the path will probably be difficult and it will take time, effort, and right media coverage for the country to do all the right steps and recover. We also need more statesmen in place of corrupt politicians. That's up to us! We will need to vote them out, we need media coverage for that, because most people are dumb and they just vote for what the TV box is telling them. This is not particularly the case in the US, most people are dumb in every country, they must be told by media (the sheppard) where to go and who to vote for. We do need health care similar to one the Europeans and Canadians have, we do need better education. Clean energy stuff is kinda like Bush's adventure into hydrogen fuel - err, too much investment, most likely useless. However, Obama is indeed much smarter than Bush, so this looks less useless than hydrogen, at least to me. Every leader has a stupid vision. Kruschev tried to grow corn up North in Russia. That did not go well. -ggg- However, funding research in clean energy could produce positive effects, as folks might discover something really useful along the way, ways outside of the field -g-

Hi proctor, That's far from a fair analysis. China does want clean energy and I'm sure leadership in it. What it won't do is tax the Many new coa; el;ectric generating plants that will impose cost disadvantages to its manufacturing base. They also are very aggressively scouring the world for all oil deposits as the Congress busily makes it illegal for our citizenry to go to work devolping our own substantial oil natural resources. Much like in natural gas - if we were just allowed to drill in Alaska and the OCS - we'd have generations of employment and the creation of many high paying jobs and wealth that stays with in our boundaries. The poor Dems working all by themselves to cough up a carbon tax bill have also been single handedly bought and paid for by large oil to make sure the the hall mark of the American way is completely absent with in the domestic oil industry - competition. The Primae Facia evidence is when Bill Clinton allowed Exxon to acquire Mobil. The Dems just want all revenue to pass through their hands because they all believe their superior intellect can much better care for the masses. With out competition - it just aint so. The first clue on how screwed up health care will be under their smater ways is that they've designed a public option that has no "for profit" built in it. It is the "for profit" that drives the efficiency and yields a superior product. When the Dems are done engineering a profitless society - we'll have mediocre everything that is funded by an all encompassing government that has taken from the brilliant entrpreneurs and given to the unmotivated under the superior intellect and overwhelming truth as seen by their liberal viewpoint politicos and labeled as "fair". This is surely not where my father's America came from, nor is it where I'm sending it to in the next generation. That viewpoint is so politically charged with inaccuracies I can only label it as dribble/crap. Hope that is not your viewpoint. Perhaps it is just that we are on both sides of the same magnet one North and one south and that makes the world. JMHO Bob
