Social Security will not cease, at least in our lifetimes. The constituency for it is huge and growing, and we still live in a democracy. The payments will probably be reduced, perhaps by changing the formula for CPI and wage growth increases, and the retirement age will be increased, perhaps by tying it to life expectancy, but I am willing to bet that you will receive some social security sometime in your sixties.
