They will, and are, displacing the younger workers. The ones who don't take the vocation seriously, don't go to classes every time, or don't have the work ethic, might as well just apply at McDonalds. The "I deserve everything I can get" union worker is becoming an endangered species around here.

I also have them in my classes. Most are ex-engineers heading for the medical field.

Vocational courses implies they'll be filling the areas of short supply; incontinent plumbers with NO experience and arthritic welders.
