Perhaps its the ex military in me but IMO you respect the office even if you don't respect the man.

You respect the office, but so should Obama. Flat out lying to our faces is disrespect to the office, and to us. When he shows such disrespect we should call him on it. I think the shout out was just enough to bring it to the publics attention without being unduly disrespectful.
