"that I was or am a feminist------which I am not"

MJ, by MY definition of "feminist" you probably ARE one.

I don't know why you'd want to disassociate yourself from them. They were women that wanted EQUAL rights. They wanted to be allowed to do the same things that men did. They wanted to be able to apply for jobs that fit their skills without being told they'd have to start out as secretaries.

When I worked at the steelmill in the late 60's women were first ALLOWED into management. Before then they weren't even considered. MJ, would you have been willing to not even be CONSIDERED for a management job because of your gender? Without feminists I don't think that would have happened, at least not for several more years.

MJ, if you were suddenly "transported" back in time to the 1960's I think you might reconsider your NOT being a feminsist.
