No one is listening to Newt Gingrich's very wise advice on the health care issue.

Because the matters involved are so complex, it is probably unwise to engage in a massive single one-time inititive to 'fix' health care. There simply too many imponderables and no knowledge or experience on how one aspect of the 'fix' might affect another. According to Newt, it is probably best to attack it in small pieces, then work out the kinks in each part of it as they are implemented, and end up with something that is tested on an ongoing basis.

Instituting a large slew of programs at the same time is asking for trouble.

I completely agree with Newt. Reform, which everyone agrees is needed, might take longer to accomplish, but it would probably end up being a lot more effective. Plus, the divisive political fight would be attenuated to some degree.
