Mr. Hraka: Good morning! The concept of TA is that it is wholly dependent on market price and volume change. Directional movement is driven by all other factors known or unknown. A market technician does not necessarily need to know if there is or is not a new financing pending, a good or bad earnings statement, fiancial woes or any other typical type of fundemental information. The TA's assumption is that some one or some persons are aware of what is really happening in any given company and that knowledge is then acted upon causing the stock to either be accumulated or distributed as the case may be. Accumulation patterns are recognized by their formations as are distribution patterns. Breakouts from these price ranges then determine, usually by the accompanying volume, how strong the patterns are. If the TA uses only Point and Figure charts than volume is not a consideration.

Sorry for carrying on so but if I am commenting on a particular aspect of stock trading and render an opinion I feel it only fair to at least let you know where I am coming from.

Best of luck to all,

TLW
