Now I get it. That must be the logical basis for the predominent health care point of view on this thread.

The only problem with this logic is that life expectancy correlate with health care spending. All the advance countries in this world (Japan, France, Germany, Canada, etc) spend far more on health care than in countries without universal health care (China, India, and all the countries in Africa ex South Africa) and life expectancy is extended (far greater) as a result of spending.

Of course the US is the exception where we spend twice as much and do not get better results. But the answer to that is that we make poor choices in our diet.
