"Is Obama a liar, or isn't he?"
Of course not; he's not Republican. Wilson not only has the manners of a pre-schooler throwing a temper tantrum cuz he's lost his blankee,, he is lying. Palin, BTW, is a pants on fire liar.

You have to be kidding.

I just finished reading the Greenville's Paper. This is a Republican paper from South Carolina. The state that has had problems with it's Governor who was a big morality preacher running off with a woman from Argentina...... while claiming to be hiking the Appalachian Trail..? Recall ?

The paper is taking a stand against this flagrant violation of etiquette and protocol by Joe Wilson.

Joe Wilson was wrong. It matters not what Obama is saying.

He is the President of the United States of our country. You are a dedicated AMERICAN aren't you ?
There is these things called Respect, Dignity and
Honoring an office.

If Democrats called out every time Bush told a lie while making a speech no one could have heard him talk.

Maybe it's a case not so much of what one is delivering in a message as common decency and respect for the office of the
president.

Time and Place. You had to be reared to know not to call out when the minister or preacher is talking. Your parents reared you differently. TIME AND PLACE....

Joe Wilson erred. He was off base.

By the way, it was Wilson who was wrong as if one reads the health proposals as posted here by some of our posters you can see that non registered illegals were not to be covered...
So where did Our PRESIDENT lie ?

Oh you sucked me in to trying to make a point.. I hate this stuff as you will never accept what I have to say and
I think you are wrong... in what you posted. So let's let it go at that.

Whatever Wilson's background or persuasion, it's not about him, it's about whether Obama lied or not.

Well, to say he lied you would have to say that the language he quoted from the bill is not the language in the bill. I don't see any evidence of that in your post.

Moreover, if one gets to the actual policy implications, the issue is silly and irrelevant; just politically advantageous, in the short term, for southern white Republicans. In the long term, they are playing with the proverbial fire by alienating Hispanic voters even further.

None of this is, nor can it be, about treatment in ER. Separate issue. Completely. This is about buying insurance. You would need to make an argument that illegal immigrants are likely to buy insurance in some significant proportions and that the overall net effect on healthcare costs would be detrimental. I see neither in your post.

The tactic of trying to turn the tables to focus on Wilson merely accentuates the weakness of Obama's position.

Hmmmm, the weakness to me appears to be the lack of meaningful health care reform coming from Republicans. What do you think, do we need to reform health care? What do you think we should do with a child of an illegal that becomes sick? Put them back on the street? Let them clean your toilets and pick your fruit huh?

Nope, you're wrong; Obama has the high road on this issue and Wilson is in the gutter.

When someone drops their pants in public it is about them, regardless of what issue is being discussed. It's sad for the reps, but when one of their number makes an ass of himself, it IS about the ass. It doesn't mean that the issue previously on the table still isn't there- but you can expect the ass to be discussed, which is the ass's fault. You can't really blame people for looking and discussing the ass.
