Doesn't those orders tell you something? A humongous order from Merrill Lynch lifted the market on Tuesday. Same thing today. The big financial houses are trying to save this bull market cause they will not be making obscene profit in a bear market. But I wonder how many times they can do this.
.and on corporate profitbility - this has already been build into the market. The Asian trouble is big for the US market as the equity market is forward looking. Although the profit % is small for US companies, the future growth depend very much on the consumption of US goods in the Asian markets.
