David, in the slowdown of 1996, CMP was still growing....it was needed to improve the yeilds at .35u. .25u DUV is required to get the lithography capable of .25u. so that that they can use their current tools for .25u. This may not spill over into the other process tools. Also, I think that alot of the tools that are bieng bought is because on certian projects...the fabs are probably at a point of no return and have to go forward with the current purchases. I'm sure that they will think about new orders for which they are still in the planning stages. And this may show up this quarter or next quarter. Time will tell. dave
