Not much to disagree with there. I think Obama felt ill-equipped to take the lead on the financial crisis, and therefore opted for leaving the decision-making in the hands of the establishment, i.e. GS. There is also a potential conflict of interest in the campaign funds area. Another factor, I suspect, is his unwillingness to confront the Republicans head-on, for fear of being tarred as a Socialist. Unfortunately, at a time when the country needed a very strong decisive leader, it got a man whose primary modus operandi is compromise. But when you look at the field of presidential contenders, he still looks good - a very sad statement about the political health of the Republic.
