They may get thrown under the bus but they won't go quietly. They will be kicking and screaming the whole way.

I always thought that the problem was with juries making outsized judgments. They feel sorry for whoever is injured and either are too emotional or too lacking in critical thinking that they don't consider whether the defendant is actually to blame. They just figure the injured party needs the money and the defendant has deep pockets. I don't see how that would change. It's not the injured party's insurance company, whether public or private, that is being sued. What am I missing?
