The Obama Pelosi approach has been quite stupid. After all the government activity over the last year to try and ram this program through for signing in August raises serious trust concerns with me.

If they back track and try to sell a plan that would benefit working class concerns they may have a better shot. But trying to sell the present program saying it will be paid for through savings is preposterous.

There is no reason you should be able to work and pay insurance for 2 or 3 decades and then end up in a whole new risk pool.

Make everyone buy insurance, adjust premiums buy age groups, make the private insurers compete across the nation, no denial for pre existing conditions, no jacking rates up once you get ill, etc.

For better or worse Obama and Pelosi are two isolated from the mainstream view of America.
