A newspaper announcement of as I recall about a half inch is not substantive enough to document his having the right to be a candidate for President or being POTUS.

It would take a pretty dedicated belief in conspiracy theories to believe that either:
1. The conspiracy was planned on the day Obama as born (in Africa) to have his birth announced in Hawaii.
or
2. That the records were tampered with knowing that the originals can show up at any time (I have an original newspaper from my birthday, so do many others).

It certainly isn't enough to prove citizenship for the purposes of becoming the POTUS, but it is enough to convince me that he was born in the U.S.

Further, he went through the vetting process to become a senator and this was done during Bush's term. Additionally, he would have been vetted as a presidential candidate during Bush's presidency. Hard to believe that Bush is in on the conspiracy to elect a non-US citizen Barack Obama.

This is not to say that i don't think he has something to hide. But I think it has more to do with his university records. Like....did he receive financial aid as a foreign student when he was really a US citizen? (I didn't make that up, it has been suggested by others).

I don't believe a word that Obama says, but I do believe that little birth announcement.
