We spoke about other things also, like eliminating the Joint Commission for Accreditation of Hospitals. To me it is still a mystery - what is it they do which would justify spending trainloads of money in order to comply with their regulations.

Why state regulations should differ so much from each other? Enough to prevent companies from competing in many - or all - states? Good question. Maybe we should ask the State insurance commissioners... maybe they'll explain us why a product which is being sold in NY cannot be marketed next door in Connecticut. Or, across the river in NJ.
