and they designed a system with checks, balances and elections to ensure "governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed". The system works exceptionally well; but it isn't perfect. One of the problems that wasn't envisioned by the Founders is the kind of media we have today. One in which healthy skepticism has been replaced by political ideology. While the Federalist Papers make it clear that the Founders had amazing vision, I know of nothing in there that suggests this willingness of the media to corrupt the process as they have. Like it or not, Obama was elected by the liberal media. Had we had a balanced media, it is highly likely the results of the election would have been different. The Founders realized the stars could align and you'd have Ds taking over the WH, the Senate, the House all at once. But the Supreme Court and the media (the "outside" watchdog with special status) would keep them honest. The Supreme Court has now become political (Ginsberg's unwillingness to hear the case of the auto dealerships tells that story). And the media, what can I say? We just had an election less than a year ago. People who are unhappy about this have a chance to change things at the ballot box in 2010 and 2012. The system was designed that way. That's correct and I sincerely hope Obama and the D majorities are thrown out. I do not know who will replace them, because I'm pretty disgusted with both sides at this point. I do, however, know that we can do better than the guy who is in there now.
