Indeed, and that may account for the outrage.

I don't have enough info on that anecdote to evaluate it but the issue seems to be where the covered individual lives. The way the problem seems to have been solved was for her landlord in the other city to attest that she has a year's lease there and therefore is still a resident of that city even though she's getting treatment elsewhere.

He is way, far out on the fringe left.

A fringe left would have proposed a single payer system, as did George McGovern. Obama seems to me to have a pragmatic bent that moderates his ideology.
