Yeah, but what if your husband had told you that wasn't allowed? Before feminism he probably could have just "smacked you around" and NOBODY would have paid any mind.

I don't know if you had an "outside job" (not that raising kids isn't an excellent and difficult job), but if you didn't you might not have come across the "difficulties" that many women had to deal with in the workplace.
